Unwanted pregnancies loom as condom price skyrockets in Nigeria

The prices of condoms in Nigeria have reportedly experienced a drastic upsurge, with men expressing concern over the significant price hikes, which may result in lower demand.

According to PUNCH report, this surge raises fears among medical practitioners and stakeholders that it could lead to an increase in sexually transmitted infections, including HIV, and unplanned pregnancies as people may resort to unsafe sex practices.

Some individuals have complained about the prices increasing by over 300%, impacting those who rely on condoms for family planning and disease prevention.

Health experts worry that this trend might result in risky behaviors and health consequences.
