Erling Haaland became the quickest player in Champions League history to score 40 goals, after his strike against RB Leipzig on Tuesday night.

The dramatic encounter showed Pep Guardiola’s tactical strength to turn a potential bad event, into a favourable one.

The Etihad club pulled a second-half comeback to secure a 3-2 victory against RB Leipzig, claiming the top spot in their group.

The match saw standout performances from Phil Foden, Erling Haaland, and substitute Julian Alvarez, who sealed the win for his his side.

Leipzig stunned City by racing to a two-goal lead in the first half, leaving City’s unbeaten home record in the Champions League under threat.

However, Guardiola’s strategic adjustments at halftime, including introducing Alvarez, proved to be a decisive move that helped boost the energy of his team.
