Abia: 28 reportedly d;e after trailer trapped many passengers at Waterside

At least 28 people are reportedly de@d after a trailer conveying a container fell over a tricycle and SUV at the Waterside Bridge in Aba, Abia State on Tuesday, trapping several people.

According to eyewitnesses, the trailer was descending the bridge when it lost control and fell on the two vehicles. 

Several people are feared to have been trapped under the container.

Rescue workers were able to free some of the trapped victims, but at least 28 people were confirmed de@d. 

The extent of injuries sustained by the survivors is not yet known.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
