A final-year student at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB), Oladokun Ayomide, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly poisoning his girlfriend, Ugbokwe Mmasichukwu, and her friend, Odumosu Semilore.

The incident occurred on Friday when Ayomide invited Mmasichukwu to his residence in the Surulere community in the Camp area of Abeokuta. Upon arrival, Mmasichukwu requested her schoolmate, Semilore, to accompany her inside.

After serving them a substance suspected to be poisonous, a mixture of brownie cakes, alcohol, and an unknown harmful substance, the victims lost consciousness and were rushed to the Osiele Medical Centre for treatment.

The motive behind Ayomide's actions remains unclear, but police believe he intended to harm his girlfriend and her friend.
